Bock Participates in McGarr Symposium on Sports and Society
KGR partner Bill Bock recently participated in a panel discussion titled “The Real Price of Winning at All Costs: A Discussion About Elite Cycling.” In addition to Bock, who also serves as general counsel to the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), the panel featured three-time Tour de France champion Greg LeMond; his wife, Kathy LeMond; Betsy Andreu, wife of former Lance Armstrong teammate Frankie Andreu; and Reed Albergotti, Wall Street Journal reporter. Bock’s involvement as the lead attorney in the investigation of the use of performance enhancing drugs by Lance Armstrong and members of his team has made him a spearhead in the fight for clean sport. During the panel Bock emphasized the importance of focusing on cycling as a whole, not isolating just a team or two – specifically, the U.S. Postal Service team. The event, which took place at the University of Texas at Austin, received an abundance of media coverage.
